Frequently Asked Questions

Can we have extra guests in the rooms?
Maximum room occupancy is limited by our short term let licence so we cannot have additional guests.  The maximum is three people in a family room and two people in the cabin.  

Does our booking include breakfast?
All bookings in family rooms are inclusive of a full cooked breakfast. 

This is typically available between 7 am and 9 am and we usually have some options suitable for vegatarians, vegans or dairy free.  However, please let us know in advance if you have specific food preferences or allergens.  Breakfast options include: cereal, yoghurts, porridge, pancakes, scones, or full Scottish cooked.
The cabin is self-catering only so does not include breakfast.


We have booked a family room but the confirmation email says no meals?
This is unfortunately a setting in the booking system that we cannot change.  Rest assured your Family Room booking does include breakfast.


Where are the nearest shops, petrol and restaurants?
You can find all of these in Dunvegan, 15-20 minutes drive away.  There is a shop and cafe in Struan but they may not be open at a time to suit you.


Are there any public transport options near you?
We are in a rural location and there are no public transport services near to us.  We strongly recommend you have your own transport and we are well located between a wide range of attractions.

Are there any steps in your property?

All our bed and breakfast rooms are on the ground floor and there is a slope up to the front door.  There is a small step into the Cabin and high thresholds between the rooms inside the cabin.

Do you provide evening meals?

We do not provide evening meals but you are welcome to use the kettle and microwave in your rooms or to bring take away food back with you.

Can you provide alcoholic drinks?

We do not have a licence to sell alcohol but you are welcome to bring alcohol back and we can provide glasses.


What happens if we need to arrive after 6pm or are delayed en route?

This is not usually a problem.  For the Cabin the key is left in a 'lock box' and we provide the key code before your arrival.  If you are staying in the Bed and Breakfast, this is our home so we are likely to be on site, but please do let us know your expected arrival time so we can plan to be available .


How can we pay?

We request card details when you book but do not take money in advance.  We can take payment on the card you booked with, or an alternative card, by cash or by bank transfer.  Our payment solution takes most cards.

Are laundry services available?

Unfortunately we do not offer a laundry service.  The youth hostel in Portree is the nearest location offering laundrette services.

Are there things in your home that might trigger my allergies?

We have hypoallergenic bedding and we have no indoor pets but there are a few cushions with feather in the main room.  If you are uncertain please contact us in advance so we can ensure we can check for allergens that might effect  you.
